With such an abundance of sport enthusiasts/IPO clubs in our region, we are fortunate enough to be able to hold some "mock trials" a couple times a year to put our dogs in the trial environment and see what we need to work on. This was Carma's first time, and I "entered" her for IPO1 obedience and protection.

We need to work on a few little things like more clarity on the motion exercises (the sit in particular) without handler cues after duration without reward, but I was thrilled with her performance overall. Her attitude and engagement was overall wonderful and I was really, really happy with her obedience.

Scott and I with Wuma and Carma checking in for obedience. We are typically each other's "spotters" and we never get our dogs on the field together. It was really cool to be able to do it for once, although in my heeling routine, he did try to sabotage us and was calling Carma's name to try and break her attention.

Heeling routine. I was so nervous!

Her protection was phenomenal. We need to work on the little bullet launching at an appropriate time for the long bite, but I believe it will come with more experience in time. Everything else was almost perfect.

Super transition phase on the lockup. And an excellent out and guard.

She fights really hard. For a 50lb girl, it was awesome seeing her turn Scott around on the lock up.

Could've been a bit fuller on the long bite. Little girl just runs too fast to realize she should have targeted a bit better. She immediately adjusts to make the grip full once on the ground. Just something we are working on.

Awesome transition again and super out and guard.

This is a great set of pictures. Love the descriptions since I have no idea how IPO works. I'm just like, 'that's a biting dog' lol

Love her and I can't wait to hear the stories from your trials

I didn't realize how small she was- that or the helper was quite large. I love her compact size! Very nice looking dog! Congrats!
