Before we switched to Canidae, Adobe was on raw and EVO. He was having some bowel problems, though, so we took him off the evo, kept him on the raw and slowly introduced the Canidae.

NOW, however, he has horrible breath and the worst smelling bowel movements ever. It's disgusting. I can only attribute this to Canidae as he was already on raw and fine on it after taking him off the EVO.

I have no issues about feeding him only raw, but he does like to munch throughout the day (and he's still very much at an idea weight). So I thought about adding NV Instinct to his diet as he's on the NV raw.

Anyone on a similar diet or tried the foods I've mentioned? Anyone having issues with Canidae?

Sure is frustrating.. I'm going to be changing the dogs diet as soon as they are done with the Canidae as well. :(

By Canidae I'm assuming you mean Felidae, that's what mine are eating and they like it fine, no problems with poop or breath or upset tummies or anything but this last bag smells pretty bad which worried me but there are no problems so I'm not switching. I wonder if they changed the ingredients at all.

Yeah, sorry... same company... I had the dogs on my mind when I was typing it up.

The cat's bag doesn't actually smell bad.... but the dogs food does...

*grumble*

My cats eat Felidae and they're doing wonderfully on it. I'm sorry you're having problems with it, though.

Interesting, my Canidae dog food smells fine.

My cats are on Innova wet and dry.

I switched my Lab to Canidae All Life Stages two weeks ago. Se was on Hills ScienceDiet before--that is, until I read the ingredients. I find the Canidae smells awful (sorry to be graphic, but the bag I have smells like poop).
Since I switched, my dog has started eating her own poo. This is the first time this has ever happened, and I am at my wit's end. I am seriously thinking about switching again. Canidae seems to be rated very highly, the ingredients make sense nutritionally. But my dog has never done this before (she is 5, been with us for 3 years). I have no clue what I am going to do, but I have to break her off this disgusting habit. I also have to start researching a new brand of food (sigh).

My cats hated Felidae . . .which was odd, since Evo and Catz-en-Flocken suited them fine. Each animal is different.

Just an update--I switched my dog to Eagle Pack Holistic, which she loves. She stopped eating her poop almost immediately. Makes me question the Canidae even more. I'm pretty disappointed, since I had researched Canidae thoroughly, and thought it sounded great. Oh well. As others on the forum have said, each dog is different....

Anyone feed NV Instinct?
Inky eats NV Raw Instinct Chicken for his dry food and I couldn't be more impressed with a cat food. He is much more lively and energetic, his cat box isn't stinky and I now wear sunglasses around him to block the shine from his coat (okay, I might be exaggerating a little on that last one, but not much!).

He doen't eat the NV wet, though now that he has decided after 14 years that he likes wet food I'm going to pick some up :)
