Can I ask for some positive thoughts/prayers?

Ok - I know I'm not around here much, and that I am a relatively new (and quiet) member of the chaz community, but I really would appreciate any thoughts or prayers you could spare for my parents.

I just got back from spending a week with my terminally ill father. He is in the final stages of cancer, in a palliative care unit, and is expected to die soon. He is 81 years old, and my folks have been married for 55 years (which has to be some kind of miracle in itself). I know he's already beaten the life expectancy for a man, but I am still ever so reluctant to see such a kind, gentle loving man leave this world. He is the reason for much of who I am, including my love of animals (his love of dogs and cats is legendary in our family).

So.....I'm not a religious person, but my parents are. I know that they would appreciate some prayers or thoughts directed towards a peaceful end for my dad, and for him to find whatever peace one finds after this life. And....I would appreciate it, too.

Thanks,
T

you have mine. I am sorry for all your worries. I went through this myself first with my significant other, then with my heart dog a few months later. They had the same type of cancer too. i will put you in my prayers tonight.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May your Dad know how much he means to you and will have a safe journey to his final home. God bless and Hugs.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my father a little over a year ago to cancer at 86 years old. Your dad sounds like he has the same kind heart my dad did. I will say a prayer for your dad that he goes in peace. I will also keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Try to remember each day how much you love you dad and he loves you. Also, if you need to cry, just do it.
