Camera suggestions?

My Kodak is dying... it was a present last Christmas, so it's only a little over a year old I really liked this camera at first, but I've been having nothing but issues with it lately... and the quality of pictures that I feel like it takes now is just bleh

So, I've been shopping around for a good camera. I LOVE all of the pictures posted on here with the dslrs and all that, but I'm not sure if I want one, or another P&S. And, to be honest, the prices of the p&s are much more comfortable to me lol

So, any suggestions for little clueless me? I've been reading and looking, but I still can't make my mind up. I've been eyeing this camera, but I don't really have a set reason why

That looks a good one, I had a look on a UK website and it has excellent reviews! It looks a good solid camera too, I like the look of it

Mostly I just want a decent camera to take pictures of the dogs (and ferrets).... The camera I have now 80% of everything is blurry, even if there isn't any movement...
