This poor girl is at a shelter in Canyon Lake, TX. She's a senior, up to date on shots, HW negative. I think she is either a blue or a weim mix. I couldn't imagine just dumping a senior (or any dog) in a shelter. Here she isAdopt a Doberman Pinscher: RUSTY: Petfinder
I know it should be in the rescue section, but not many people go there. Move it if you need to.

Bad angle on the picture, LOL, but she is definitely a blue dobie girl. I am no where near Texas though.........Could you contact the shelter and see if a breed rescue has been notified?

A lot of times, they can intervene :)

Oh my goodness! If she were closer and there weren't already four dogs in the house, I would scoop her up in a heartbeat.

Oh, I would take her too, if I weren't maxed out with dogs and didn't live so far. She looks so sweet. Yes, she looks to be a blue. How could anyone abandon a dog like that? I hope a rescue can be contacted. They stand such a better chance that way and get to go to a foster home at least for a time.

I contacted San Antonio Doberman Advocacy and Rescue, just waiting to hear back. She just looks so sweet, I still can't believe someone would just dump her.

Awesome of you Texas Ranger! I hope they have good news for you.

Any breed specific rescue is normally a better place for them because they (hopefully) KNOW the breed they are dealing with, have fosters to give the dog a temp/family environment and assess them while waiting, and screen homes much better than a shelter :)

*fingers crossed for her*
