Does you corgi point at things? By point I mean like curl up their front leg and point with the knee? Peanut seems to do this alot. Escpecially when she sees a bird or squirrel.

I don't have a Corgi, as you know, but Roxy does this when she is especially interested or curious about something. I think it's cute.

Our Vet has two Corgis that come to work with her. The vet office is very nice. The set up doesnt even make it seem like an "office". They like to wander around the office, very nice breed. If I ever was to get a small dog it would probably be a Corgi. Arn't they pretty rare? It seems like Im always intrested in rare breeds (Leonberger, Tibetain Mastiff, Cane Corso).

MIne never pointed but he did "roo". Does yours? I've met several Corgis and some roo and others don't. I think it seems to run in some lines and not in others. Just wondered.:)

It's kind of like a howl but sounds more like they are trying to talk than howl really. It's hard to explain if you haven't ever heard it but it really does sound like they are saying "roo" when they do it. Penquin's whole family did it and I've been on some personal corgi websites where other people have mentioned that theirs do it as well. It is a very endearing habit and part of what I loved about my Penquin. In fact, the picture in my siggy is him rooing for a snack from my daughter.

As for pointing, it's not a hard wired motor pattern in Corgi's and most other breeds....but, I have seen many different breeds point, all of my dogs will point...it's basically a motor pattern before flushing. My Dobe will point contantly on walks, so will my Rottweiler and one of my Newf's...for me, I think it's just a small part of the predatory motor pattern which is displayed in some dogs.

I even have a Newf which displays perfect eye stalk and chase motor patterns...this is untypical for a Newf, but, hard wired in a Rottweiler. My Newf learned this behavior from my Rottie:)
