Well, poor Dillon will be saying this to his "little guys" pretty soon, LOL:p He will be getting neutered shortly after January 5th which is his 6 month birthday... I'm relieved, but my poor little baby was just getting used to them, lmao. I was also curious as to how much it cost to get dogs nuetered or spayed near you? Here's the prices for my area:

Nueter: $130
Spay: $250

Good Gosh don't scare a person like that! :yikes: :yikes:

I thought you were leaving us at first....and then I started to read and thought you were giving DILLON UP! :yikes: I was about to go off on you! :p

Heheh, not sure about a nueter...but a Lizzies spay was about $200 for the WHOLE thing.

You know im not positive how much it is here. Tucker isn't getting neutered for anouther couple months or so. Which is not my decision it is my moms since he is technically hers.

Maggie came to us Spayed.

It's $95 here for neutering, but I have the two boys to get done, so I'm saving up for after Christmas. The last dog I had spayed was Abbey (about 6 years ago) and it cost a whopping $45 - I sure wish I could get that kind of price nowadays!

I worked at a clinic that did low cost spay and neuter. A dog Dillon's size would have been $34.95 and no, we did not cut corners!

Wow, $35 Showpug?!? I sure wish I lived by you guys, lol... $130 really isn't bad at all considering how much trouble and stress you would have to go through if your dog got pregnant, though...

For my female cat it was $60 at the lowest. our 2 males was half that. I have never neutered a dog so i don't know. I think sly will end up getting his boys taken off. He gets easily over excited now. My mom, dad, and i agreed that if he starts mounting people he will get neutered. i don't think he will make it.

My last two had already said " bye bye guys " ... The ones I fostered were done at rescue costs. Seems to me the males were about $125 . Never rescued a female .

I thought you were leaving! So glad you're not! Poor little Dillon :p He'll forget about it eventually. . .and you're to blame if it scars his manhood. ;)

Neutering's about $160 and spaying's about $260. It's more than most vets but they concentrate so much on the comfort of the pets rather than in and out and speutering all the pets they can, and my dogs are so comfortable with them, that it's well worth the extra money.

I'm with you , Momof7 ... I know when EliN adopted Hunter newly neutered from the HS he had much more discomfort and swelling than any others I've seen . I cases like this I want the best for my dogs , not the easiest on my pocket book .

Fozzie was also neutered when he was 6 months old, and he was totally fine. I promise Dillon will not miss being intact! =]

I think for just the neuter it was like $75. Then, with the anesthesia, pain meds, getting 3 loose teeth pulled, and anti-biotics for the teeth, it was about $250. Probably around $150 for the neuter. But, the peace of mind that comes with neutering is priceless!

I definitely agree! If cost is a big issue, then I understand going to a low-cost clinic, but going to your own personal Vet really is worth the extra $100.

My kitty, Lola, came from the ASPCA and she got a really poor stitch-job on her spay. You can feel the ripples on her tummy. That is NOT to say that all shelters/clinics do a poor job, but private Vets typically do have less patients and more money/time to spend using the best equiptment. Any facility that will be treating your pet should be thoroughly checked out.
