Hi guys! Long story short, there is a rabbit in a really bad situation that I need to get him out of. Family members are no longer caring for him and it is not good.

I have my hands very full with my crew of puppies and am afraid to add another pet to the household, but I am going to be taking him temporarily, getting him neutered and vet checked and investing in a much larger home for him :(.

The rabbit rescues in NY I've contacted are not taking in owner surrenders at this time, and neither are the local humane societies.

I'm at a loss for what to do. I will NOT let this rabbit live the way he is living, but I also know my limits where pet ownership is concerned and I still have 2 puppies working on potty training as well as my other 2. Plus I am definitely allergic to rabbits so long term it will not work.

What should I do? Do any of you know anyone experienced with rabbits that live somewhere in NYS? I live near Buffalo and would be willing to drive a few hours to get this little bun to his forever home.

Any advice is so appreciated guys!

Thank you so much, I did try the house rabbit society and they aren't able to accept home surrenders at this time in the NY or PA division.

I also called most of the humane societies in NYS and none take small animals at this time as well.

I'm waiting to hear back from a private rescue that specifically deals with rabbits, so I hope that will have a good outcome!

Thank you so much!

Just wanted to let you guys know he has found a temporary home with a no kill humane society that is situated on a farm. They house a lot of small animals and are very successful with adoptions.

We will be taking him down this weekend, and donating to this great humane society. I am so lucky to have found them!
