I buy them online (dogs choking death ment)
I buy bully sticks, also known as pizelles from www.drsfosterandsmith.com.
I buy a bag of 50 6 inch sticks, and they cost about $50. But they are well worth it. My dogs LOVE them, they chew on a stick for days and days and days. The bullies hold up really good to frequent chewing (the ones I get anyway). They stink if you sniff them up close but other than that, my dogs are small dogs and I have never had a problem with them vomiting or getting sick, etc. When the stick gets about 2inch long, I throw them out for safety.
They take a long time to chew on them so you can always spot the short chewed sticks to be thrown out. And I NEVER leave the sticks alone with the dogs if i go out. My dogs bark when they hear noises and sometimes they choke on their own saliva or if they are eating something. Never leave your dogs home alone with food or anything they could choke on.
An FYI sad sad story....My parents brought one of our cats who died to an emergency vet. They said a couple came in carrying a big dog, who was home alone and DIED choking on a ball. It was stuck in his throat. I cant imagine coming home to my precious dog who died choking on a toy or anything. How terrible.
So try these sticks out as they do hold up well and if you have a big dog buy the 12 inch sticks, small dog you can get the 6 inch sticks, but always watch your dogs with small objects.
