I always knew Buddy was special ;) Being a Beagle, it was not an easy task getting him through the training class:D but he did it and I am so proud of him. We will start our monthly visits to a woman's facility on July 19 and I cannot wait! He is so very proud of his vest and takes this very serious :lol-sign:

This is his graduating class. Only 3 out of 7 passed the class.

Oh how cool! I have ALWAYS wanted to do this with Tucker!

What was the course like? What did the dogs have to do/learn?

OUR pets for life test was hard. Much harder then the power pets one i went through for Plate County. Both were therapy tests. I appriciated PTF more because i think they put out a test for all occasions and happenings.

I don't believe that all dogs could do it. I think it takes two things. A person willing to train to a level of saftey for all and a special dog that has the right temperment and willingness to please.

I don't think Pepper is ever going to get there. LIcking is just too important to her and if i took that away from her she would not feel free to express the love that bubbles out of her. She truly is effervescent. (sp?)

With Bronki i didn't have to do anything. HE was just easy on me in every direction.
But Victor was a piece of work.
A solid year of learing how to become calm when your stretched as tight as can be. IT did not come naturally to him, but I am glad i did it. He is a much happier and safer dog this way.

I commend you both on working your way through this goal. I hope doing this brings you as much sastifaction as it has for me. Victor and i are so close when we finish a visit. I don't think he knows exactly what it is about but he knows it is important and he is a part of it. THat is priceless.
