I couldn't find anything under search for this directly. I was wandering what is a proper schedule for brushing your dogs teeth, whether every day 3 times a week or once a week.

I would say brushing them daily is ideal.

Even more ideal is brushing them daily in addition to feeding safe teeth-cleaning chews, particularly raw meaty bones. :) Raw meaty bones are nature's toothbrush!

I've been looking into this too and was wondering how many times a day/week to brush my poo-pom's teeth. I was giving her Nature's dentist, this pricey powder stuff you put on the dog's food (anyone try this?) but she seems to have tartar build up and the vet has suggested a cleaning. So after she gets a good cleaning I may brush her teeth in addition to the dental powder and wasn't sure how often to do this.
I've heard once a day from a few others too but I wasn't sure if that was too much??

Yes, you should brush daily.

It seems like a lot but if you get on a good schedule of doing it when you do yours it works fine.

I usually try and do Armani's in the evening when I do mine, because in the morning when I do mine I am usually in more of a rush.

Yep, daily is best.

I'm in the routine of brushing my chis' teeth at night. I brush them with an enzymatic toothpaste and then apply Petzlife gel as a preventative.

jesse, how you liking the petzlife gell, they have a spray too right?
cresties are realy prone to teeth issues and at 2, even with a primarily dry diet, teeth brushing and raw meaty bones shes still got alot of icky buildup...

once i find a vet around the new place i like and trust shell be going in for a good cleaning and from there im hoping something like the petzlife spray will help.

Funny.....I don't brush teeth at all. They get raw bones once a week. And I've never had a problem with bad teeth, even in my departed Cairn Terrier (who lived to be 4 months shy of 20).
