Broken Tooth, HELP!

One of my dogs broke one tooth and ripped another out. She was terrified of a civil war reinactment down the street. She was fine when we were home, but we left just to grocery shop and when we got back, she had broken her teeth on the crate. I feel horrible. Had I known this would happen, I wouldn't have let her alone. I feel so guilty! My poor baby!

Her mouth is a little swollen, but other than that seems fine. She's eating soft foods and begging for our food, as always, lol. She doesn't seem to be bothered at all.

Vet time. How would you feel if you broke a tooth and ripped one out?

Definately at least CALL your vet..

Not much they can do about a broken tooth now, but if it was ripped out thats gotta hurt a bit.

Dogs do very well with hiding pain. Definately call the vet to see if there is any meds that she might need to be on for swelling or pain.

Well, the vet gave me some anti-inflamatory and said to watch for infection, but she almost never sees and infecrion from a broken tooth. I crushed up her kibble, drenched it in Pedialyte and added some chicken baby food. She ate that up real quick!

Which tooth/teeth? Sophie broke her 3 root molar (second from the back - the biggest tooth) and had to have it pulled. We were going to have a root canal done but she was in pain and couldn't wait for the specialist so I had it pulled instead. It is very painful to break a tooth especially if the root is exposed. From what I was told, they can't just be left like that.
As for the one she lost, the vet should be checking for tooth fragments...unless it was a baby tooth and came out clean
