Have any of you sprinkled brewer's yeast powder on your dogs' food? I buy it from GNC for our family's use (so good on popcorn...yum!!) and the guy there told me that lots of people buy it for their dogs to help w/digestion (?). I know it's good for people, so you would thing it would be benificial for dogs too.....but I was wondering if anyone had tried it and found it made their dogs gassy or anything? Our bullmastiff has that problem in general, and lord knows I def. don't want to do anything to make it worse!!

what dogs get gas from is a very individual thing, so it doesn't necessarily apply to every dog.

brewer's yeast is a great supplement, you can definitely feed it. :)

Roxy looks forward to getting her Brewers Yeast everyday. It's like a treat to her. The others don't care for it.

I also heard that Brewers East makes the dog's coat (fur) shiny and pretty.

Actually, I think I am going to start giving that to Kia again: I did in the past, but forgot all about it.

Yup, brewers yeast is good for dogs. I've seen it in some treats and such. My dogs get a supplement every day that includes brewers yeast.

i wanted to add another thing to this thread:

nutritional yeast is a great supplement, too. brewer's yeast and nutritional yeast contain different amounts of certain vitamins and minerals, so alternating between the two is also a good idea. :)
