To be honest, I have a hard time liking a lot of dogs that aren't mine or my friends'. Sounds weird as I am definitely a dog person and love dogs. It's less about breed than it is about the behaviour some people let their dogs get away with. I just find most pet dogs out of control and I have a hard time liking them often, regardless of breed. Sad.
That said, I don't care for most pit bull types due to their extreme desperation for affection and in your face-ness. Same with a lot of Labs, Goldens, and surprisingly, many Rottweilers (the ones I had growing up we're friendly but more reserved). I still like several dogs of those breeds or types, but generally speaking, we clash big time. I know, sounds weird coming from an Aussie owner haha. But Journey is very polite for an Aussie IMO compared to what other people say about them and she's mine.
I also don't like super introverted dogs. Border Collies and I are kind of hit and miss. I love some, but a lot of the time I find them too introverted and kind of weird around people and dogs. Even a few that I know really well. My Border Collie mix was similar. She made me feel like a fool if I acted goofy around her haha.
I also am not a terrier person. I enjoy my friend's terriers, but I've learned that I would not enjoy living with them.
But yeah, overall, like I said: it's more an individual dog thing than a breed thing for me I've found over the years.
Breeds I enjoy being around the most are: Aussies, Tollers, Dobermans (surprise, surprise on those three lol) and surprisingly the race bred Whippets I've been around.
