Since I am having NO good results in finding the right future large breed dog for me, Could some of yah give me some suggestions. Or think of a breed that would work out for me. :)

What I want is a dog that would be a good guardian of the house and family. It does not have to be trained in PP, but I would want a natural guardian.

-Must be a dog that is naturally good with children.
-I dont want a dog that is a crazy shedder, example a GSD or a lab.
-perferably I would want a breed that is not extremely DA.
-I think I could deal with Same Sex agression.
-energy level hopfully medium as we will be living in a very remote city and there is not much for dog sports. Only a DP and lots of trails and bush walking.
-Natural guardian instincts.

I cant think of anything else, but if I do I will add it :)

Doberman. If you get a puppy of the opposite sex, it should work.

They require walking and stimulation but I would say they were medium energy. You get the bounce off the wall dogs in every breed occasionaly.

They shed, but not as much as a lab. If they spend time with kids young they are good with them.

Thats actually a breed I have been looking into. I have a friend with one and he is such a sweetheart, Teagan and Quinn got along great.

Why don't you go to some shows/visit some breeders of what you think you are interested in and go from there?

Ok so I've only breifly looked into them so I'm not positive they would fit, but what about a Mudi?

I've met some pretty amazing American Bulldogs - they've been well socialized & seem to fit your requirements. They do shed, of course, but I don't think as bad as a lab... or a GSD :p

I have actually looked into them, and I would love to add one into the family, but I believe DA is a big issue in the breed.

Look into French Mastiffs. Not too big, great with kids, not too high energy and great watchdogs that do not eat mailmen. I recently adopted one, and I have to say they are really nice. I am hugely biased though as I am a huge Molosser dog fan :)

I would worry about DA with a DDB. The few I have met are nasty with other dogs. Dont know if thats a breed thing. Watch your breeder on them too. One I know has H.D. and he's 18months old

I was going to say the same thing. Plus, what you give up in shedding hair with a DDB, you make up for with slobber. So you get a mess one way or another.

I ws going to suggest a Norwegian Elkhound. They aren't a PP type dog, but their bark and looks do wonders in the watch dog department (when I was kid, our TV repair man wouldn't go in the house because he saw our NEs in the kennel, heard our Toy Poodle in the house and thought we had another NE inside). BUT- they have a coat like a GSD or Siberian Husky, so they shed quite a bit.
