one of my best friends growing up had two dalmatians.... the male was HUGE. he used to drag a car transmission around the yard.

they eventually found a nice home for him with a firefighter who had a lot of land. And he was happy ever after. :)

My mom's neighbor has a Dal and it is always out in the yard. I found it in her horse field one day about to get squashed by one of the horses. I picked her up and she did not want to have to be put back down. When I took her back home the owners weren't thrilled to have her back and she didn't want to go with them. I felt so terrible about having to return her.

It might just be MO but these dogs are the ones who can do some horrible damage (along with other breeds) if raised by the wrong person..
In AC its you just get so many diff kinda people you never know..
Ya know?
Ummm.....ANY dog can do horrible damage. Are you saying that a 40 lb "pit bull" (whatever the hell that is) can and/or will do more damage than an aggravated 160 St. Bernard? Or even a 90 lb Labrador Retreiver?

I understand that people don't like certain breeds of dogs (hey, I've got my own list of dogs I will NEVER ever own), but I sure as hell don't buy into media hysteria or make my decisions based on inaccuracies and falsehoods.

Sarah, I'm not trying to pick on you, but I had the great "pleasure" of euthanizing a very aggressive Dachshund that gave a 5-year-old over 70 stitches and some staples in the head, face, and neck. And this was the dogs' 5th attack on a person. Can you honestly tell me that 70+ stitches and staples is not "horrible damage?" If you can, maybe you ought to ask that child who is now 7-years-old, has partial facial paralysis and is still undergoing surgeries. All because of a 16 lb dog.
