Fran do whats right for you!!!!!!!!!!
If that's re-homing Boris, having him pts, whatever the case may be............if you have to lie, then do so.........it's not for anyone else to judge you, so don't worry about that..........in my opinion your husband is not leaving the door open for you to have a mature and reasonable conversation with him..........
good luck, and know that whatever your decision is, it is right for you and your family, no gilt, no regrets,
Cheers.........
P.S let us know

Okay, how about questions to Grammy that don't have anything to do with Boris' situation go TO Grammy in a PM? This is getting really old.

It sounds like your husband has FINALLY opened his eyes, Fran... I hope he sticks to the plan of rehoming him and I hope you are able to stick to your guns around him going.

Pfft it's nothing really...a lot of scheduling and getting the hang of it...and not staying up late like I did last night discussing this with hubby because I'm exhausted this morning lol!

Everyone, wish Boris luck on getting out to Colorado!

Let me know when this is going down, because I'm in Kansas City for awhile and then driving back to Denver. If Boris would be ok with Sawyer in the car, I don't see why he couldn't ride along.

The french are a very forward thinking and modern culture. Exactly like the rest of the western world. It is more then likely the small villages you were thinking of.

Can you tell your husband you found a rescue that will take him and go have him PTS by yourself?
OMG!!! I am sorry I opened this thread!!! You don't think this will cause a slight issue in their marriage if he ever found out? I have not read through to the end but I had to post something to this comment! How pathetic!!!

Anyway I hope to GOD Boris finds a home and I am totally against putting this dog to sleep. Why did you Fran not step up to the plate and train this dog early on when he first started acting out! Take responsibility for your pets. It is absolutely pathetic that euthanizing has become the answer for behavior problems. It is not the dogs fault and this just infuriates me!!! I know their are rescues or people out there that will take Boris. I'm just disgusted with this whole give up and put the dog to sleep thing. If a dog has issues get him help early on so it does not come to this.

I'm so mad right now I don't think I can finish reading this. Someone please give me good news on Boris. I have had a rotten few months and this will just make me more upset if he was PTS.

Boris is now with drmom and will be heading to colorado with acampbell. Sometimes it DOES pay to read the whole thread.

Would YOU take Boris? Do YOU have the capability to work on this problem?

If the answer is no, what makes you think that others out there would do it?

There is a dog in my friend's rescue group, who she is fostering right now. He tested well in the shelter, but despite that has shown that he is very reactive to people, dogs, and cats. He will not be able to go to a home with other pets or young children, and the people who take him must be able to manage him well enough so that he does not EVER come into contact with a human or other animal without a formal introduction. He has bitten at least 4 people (drawing blood but not requiring stiches) in the past 1 1/2 years he has been with the rescue. They keep hoping that "the right home" will come along, but realistically, everyone knows it will probably never happen. Meanwhile, the rescue is spending money and resources (obviously this is a very good foster home that he's in) to take care of the dog, even though he is probably not able to be rehabilitated to any extent where he could live in a less than perfect home. He will probably be there for the next 10 years at least. How many other dogs could this rescue save, that ARE able to be rehabilitated, in the next 10 years, if this dog wasn't using money and resources??
