Day 5 (Sunday) ~6:30 AM

Good morning, Boo!

I slept downstairs with her both nights I was home. She woke me up at 5:30 AM on Sunday making licking noises - I opened my eyes to make sure she wasn't managing to tear at her bandages, and I found her looking particularly comfy on the couch opposite of mine. I didn't have the heart to make her move, but when I woke up again at 6:30 to give her her meds, she was off of the couch. She's definitely managing to get around. When she walks, she touches with her front left but doesn't use it to hold much weight at all. When she gets going a bit quicker, she avoids using it altogether and bounces on three legs. She's still not quite clear on the dimensions of her cone, but she's getting better and we don't have to help her maneuver through doorways or around corners quite as much as before.

This morning she will be at the vet again. I'll have to check with my brother to see how she was as they were getting her there. Cross your fingers that her wounds still look okay after 48 hours away from the vet! If we could get on an every-other-day schedule, that would be amazing.

Boo has now been shifted to an "every other day" vet schedule! They said that her injuries are healing very very nicely. :) If she continues to do so well, she'll get to shift to a Monday-Thursday schedule which would be awesome. Cross your fingers that she'll be there by Easter weekend so we won't have to worry about finding a vet at the lake to change her bandages.

She apparently tried to chase a squirrel the other day. I'm picturing her in all of her bandaged, conehead glory flouncing after a squirrel who was probably just laughing at her.

My brother sent me another photo from yesterday and one from this morning - once I pull them off of my phone, I'll share here :)

I got another vet photo today. I thought I'd put the three photos that I have together so that you can see the process. All three are of her front left leg.

Bigger version of today's photo:

She doesn't have to go back to the vet until Thursday and now will be on a Monday/Thursday schedule provided that all continues to look good. I get to see her again in a few days! She's making her first road-trip to the lake since she got lost.

Yay, Boo! So glad she is doing well. :)

And don't you worry Boo. That squirrel won't be laughing when you're back to 100%!

I am so happy that Boo is coming to the lake! I can't wait to squeeze her! My mom just sent me another photo from Monday - this one of her front right leg.

Her poor poor little toe.

My mom says she's acting better by the day though! She says she can definitely tell when Boo's been off sedation for >24 hours. Boo wanted to go on a car ride today, but didn't want my mom to lift her into the car, so she didn't go. I hope that she doesn't start to develop an aversion to cars after potentially being hit by one and now having the majority of her car rides lead to vet visits.

Oh that poor toe! Looks so painful.

Go Boo go! I love how skinny her legs look all "defluffed". Little chicken legs haha

I got to see Boo this weekend and she is noticeably improving. She's walking with an apparent limp now, but is putting weight on her front left, which she really wasn't doing two weeks ago. Her limp got worse as the weekend wore on - we suspect she was moving more than she has been just because it was a busy weekend. We tried to keep her quiet today.

She'll have been back 3 weeks on Tuesday.

The only thing the vet is concerned about at the moment is that the swelling in one of her feet is still up, and they're worried the bone isn't healing as it should. She'll go back on Monday to make sure everything else is still going smoothly, to re-bandage, and to recheck the foot.

She now maneuvers extremely successfully with her cone, having worn it basically 24/7 since we found her.

I noticed a weird scabby/matted spot on her side this weekend. I think it is probably a wound that scabbed over and got all matted up in hair. We've got to ask the vet to shave her down there too.

Day 19 (Sunday)

Mouth Ulcers are basically cleared up:

Isn't she just too cute!?
