Boo's Recovery Thread

I thought I'd make a recovery thread for Boo. Right now I just have plenty of pitiful bandage photos for you courtesy of my family.

Day 0/Tuesday (Found 9 AM)

Day 1/Wednesday

She's now walking on wobbly bandaged legs! She got carried down the steps and then hobbled around a bit outside by herself My brother says she's acting more alert, but still reeks to high heaven. No baths until she's healed up and her bandages are off. She may have had a sponge bath today. Not sure if it did any good.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and for the support while she was gone. I just received an email from her finders (I knew that they had taken a picture when they found her, and I was curious to see it, so that I could know where she started and the improvement that she is making). They were kind enough to send it to me.

She looks pretty awful in this photo That said, she is now where she belongs and I should have more cute bandaged ones tonight. She is at the vet's again this morning and will be picked up this afternoon.

Oh, and for the stinkiness, you might ask the vet if you could use a waterless shampoo. You can buy waterless dog shampoos (either a foam or a powder) or there are some pretty simple recipes online, like this one: http://thekrazycouponlady.com/2012/01/03/cut-down-on-grooming-how-to-make-dry-dog-shampoo/

I used to use this on a lot of the daycare dogs before they went home and most of their owners ended up getting hooked on it as well.
