Thanks all! Boo really is a good dog. And yeah, she's a mix. We got her from a shelter, so we're not 100% sure as to what she is... probably chow, shepherd, and who knows what else.
Thanks for the tip SharkBait! Boo does know 'wait' as well as 'stay' and 'leave it'. Unfortunately, the human language side of me wants to use the word 'wait' with everything from sitting patiently at the door to 'wait a second and I'll be back' to 'wait with that cookie on your nose'. So to Boo, wait is essentially an informal 'chill out' command and although I do use it while working with the cookie trick, her issue isn't trying to eat the cookie... her issue is not wanting to let it stay on her nose. She doesn't seem to understand physics. Go figure... She tilts her nose, the cookie goes "kaplunk" on the floor and she promptly turns her head away in the 'leave it' command! :rofl1: I should probably put a new word to the cookie trick, though once I do that, I'll have so many 'do nothing' commands that I wont know what to do with them! Eh, we'll get it someday! For now as long as Boo lets me stick sunglasses and milk bones on her nose without fuss... she's perfect! The tricks are all for fun. We're getting closer though... I bet if I have time, I could get it to the point that I could take a picture of the cookie on nose within a week... we'll see.
Of course, once I can, you bet I'll post!
