Body Piercing??

I'm iffy on tats and piercings. There are certain places that people tattoo that I just find unattractive and a LOT of piercings that I'm not into. I've been tempted to get a tat but have yet to find something that I look at and say, "YES, I want that etched into my skin for the rest of my life!"
There is no way in hell I would ever get my nipples pierced--OUCH! I've thought of getting a small nose piecing but DH does NOT like piercings, so I don't know that I'd actually do it.

I would love a tattoo, but it would be really small lol maybe quarter size. I just havent found anything special enough that I want it on my skin forever
as for piercings.. heck no for me, i hate needles
when it comes to large tattoos (sleeves, etc..) and multiple face piercings, I just dont get it. but people have different perceptions of beauty and what they like so I have no problem with them on other people..to each his/her own.. you just wont ever find me on a chair with some guy holding a giant needle ready to inject ink into my skin or poke a hole through me lol

I've had a lot of people ask me how I ever expect boys to like me if I put piercings in my face. lol Easy. I like the boys that like the same thing. If I notice someone has piercings/tattoo's I'm much more likley to want to meet them without knowing anything else about them.
When I got my first tongue bar done I was shaking so so badly in the chair, I was terrified. lol but it really is over in a second and I love sitting there with the needle through your lip/tongue/face while the piercing grabs the jewlery, its just a cool feeling.

I'm scared of needles too, but i love piercings and tats. I found out that I'm not scared of needles as a whole through my piercings; I'm only afraid of needles going into my veins, not going into my skin/cartilage and out the other side.
It's actually several really tiny needles, i think the minimum my artist uses is a 3 needle head for very fine detail work, she used a 5 needle piece on my tattoo that was 3 paw prints that are each slightly bigger than a toonie in size
The piercing needles aren't very big either, i think my cartilage piercings on my ears were 16 gauge (i think) and it was just alot of pressure and then it went through, got hot, then was fine. Belly button i didn't even feel and that one was a thicker needle.

Iam terrified (like panic attack) of INJECTIONS...but tattoos and piercing are fine for me.

I have both of my nipples pierced. As well as my ears, eyebrow, tongue and navel.
The nipple piercings did hurt the most upon needle penetration, out of all of them, but literally only for a second. Once that was done and the jewelry was in, they didn't hurt again ever. At all. Easiest piercings I've ever had to heal as well.
I absolutely LOVE them. As (Foxy I think it was) stated, there are advantages in bioplast (plastic) jewelry, especially for the post (assuming a barbell). It is a much more comfortable and forgiving type of jewelry.
If your friend wants it, and is going as far as consulting with a piercer, she'll likely be very happy with them. If it's a whim thing, then I could see someone being "meh" about it, but when it occupies your thoughts, it's more than a fickle trendy thing.
I love the way mine look, the way they feel. They make me feel sexy, and I think they make breasts I already liked, look that much better in my eyes. I have extremely small jewelry, so in my case, the effect is very subtle, but I absolutely love it.
Oh, and the only thing I've caught them on since I got them is the occasional thread of my shower poof. Never hurt or caused damage.
It's a personal thing, but it sounds like your friend really wants them, so I think she should go for it!
I would have no issue posting a picture of mine, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers. LOL If you're curious to see or think your friend would benefit from an example different from the typical gaudy (IMO) hoops, PM me, and I'd have no problem sharing. Same type of pic you'd see in a piercer's portfolio.
