Regis and Kyrie both have had diarrhea yesterday and today, which my vet told me is normal as they are adjusting to Colorado's water because it has stuff in it that is different from the water they are used to, I forget the details.

Anyway, we noticed today that Regis' diarrhea suddenly has blood in it, or sometimes he will try and go and blood will just trickle down.

He's had this once before and it just went away, but I want to be sure..

He's acting normal and drinking water, he and Kyrie were rough housing just a moment ago. However, he just now threw up what looked like bile.

If he's not better by tomorrow I'm going to take him to the vet.

He's all up on his shots, including Parvo!

Any ideas? :(

Speaking from experience, most likely the blood was on the stool, not in it. It's most likely from an irriation in the colon from the diarrhea. It's happened with one of my human kids, and a couple of times when Mick was sick. You might still think about taking him in, tho, just to make sure.

I largely agree with MicksMom - the blood on the stool is probably just from the strain. However, the fact that he's trying to go and all that comes out is blood frightens me, TBH. I think I would be going to the vet right now.

Thanks guys.

He just went to the bathroom and his poop was firm enough for us to pick up, and no blood at all.

I think he's getting better and it was just irritation :)

Oh, goodie!! Isn't it funny how much joy a poop can give a dog owner..? We're so weird. XD

Hopefully their tummies will settle down soon, it's no fun to have a hurt belly (or butt, I guess the case may be! =P)
