Got my Violette market order today.
I tried Veil of the Moon and I don't know whether to love it or hate it.
In the vial it smelled sickly sweet like butter cream icing. Once I put it on my wrists while it was still wet it still smelled sickly sweet, but with a bitter... aftertaste? lol
Now that it's dry I smell like a leather shop. Not what I was expecting from this oil AT ALL.
Here's the description:
The Autumn full moon high in the sky, Bare branches of trees, the cold black of darkness, silvery cloud mist veiling the moon and painting shadows on the ground below. Vanilla accord, peppered woodsmoke, cedarleaf, vanilla honey, and black pine resin.
I'm guessing it's the peppered woodsmoke that I am thinking smells like leather. Still not sure if I like it or not.

Today's scent is VERDANDI (from the Excolo-THE NORNS collection).
Description: Necessity. Deep herbs and apple with black amber.
Imp nose: Very strong and herby. I can kind of smell the amber and apple, but I don't really think all of these smells are working well together.
Wet on skin: The apple is a lot stronger, but there's still an herby undertone. I like this better. The apple is a soft, sweet scent instead of the usual strong and tart, and I really like it.
Dry on skin: It turned spicy, of course. Doesn't everything on me? But the apple stayed fairly strong, and the herbs dropped to a faint undertone.
Not the crazy difference of turning to some random smell like jasmines, but the end result smelled pretty delicious. Spiced apples? Please and thank you! I'm pretty positive I will get a 5ml of this one eventually, but I want to order some more imps first.
ETA: I didn't have to put much of this on at all! When I smelled how strong it was in the imp, I made sure to barely put any on, and that was plenty!

Wet in the vial it smelled very bitter and the only thing I smelled was cinnamon.
Wet on my skin it still smelled very strongly of cinnamon.
Dry on my skin it smells like fireball jawbreakers. Mostly cinnamon with a sweet snap at the end.
I like it a lot. I think it might smell better on a guy though. I smell like a candy shop.
Here's the description:
Newly-turned Autumn earth, exposed tree roots, blackberry brambles ripe with spiced fruit, Merlot grapes left to age on the vine, moss covered stone, a distant fire burning forest twigs, and the dark black pitch of the night.
NOTHING in the description about cinnamon...odd.
I'm starting to think that I prefer BPAL. There scents seem much more straight forward in the descriptions and much more complicated. A lot of VM's scents have some degree of vanilla in them as well, which I am NOT a fan of.
My favorite by FAR is still Nosferatu.

Description: Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen.
Imp nose: Can definitely smell the ginger, honey and linen.
Wet on skin: I smell soap and rubber gloves (WTF?)
Dry on skin: I can sort of smell the ginger now and there's some citrus scents... Still smells like rubber gloves.
I'll have to see if this one calms down... So far it's a no-go.

Though I must update - since I accidentally spilled ALL of my Miskatonic U, I've been using Jack - it still starts out a bit soapy but I think I'm addicted! ALso, my husband was like, "OMG what is that pumpkin halloween smell? What IS it, where is it coming from... it's amazing!"

Wet on skin: Spicy... Smells like Incense... It's yellow on my skin.
Dry on skin: I smell like a yoga studio, not bad since it's settled down a bit. But it's still yellow on my skin...
