I believe from one of your other posts you were told Tyson was part poodle. Poodles generally do not have what one would consider a soft or silky feel to their hair. You can buy a conditioner at a pet store that will help soften it somewhat.:)

Your bathing your puppy WWAAAYYY to often!! You are stripping his fur of essential oils each time you bath him. This could be why he isn't as "soft" as you'd like him to be.

I'd bath MAYBE once a month if you must.

I generally find that wire haired dogs aren't as soft and silky as other dogs are, smooth hair, long hair etc etc. So no matter what you do to his fur if its wire, it will carry out the same texture.

you could possibly add a small amount of oil in his food as well, maybe half a teaspoon and mix it around.

i agree with sunner riots post we show n groom cocker spaniels n golden rets,i would also not advise to bath your dog that many times,as all of the oils are coming out of his coat n skin,we use some products for our dogs coat cod liver oil is a good 1 to use you can just mix it up with there food

Two times a week is far too often, for a puppy especially. Try to keep it to less than twice a month, his skin and coat will thank you for it. Sponge baths come in handy for puppies who tend to get dirty easily.

He's got wiry hair, he won't be a soft dog. If you don't like the wiry hair, when you get him groomed instead of having him hand-stripped you can have him clipped. The result will be that his hair will grow back softer and finer in texture.

Baby wipes are perfect to wipe muddy paws and when they get a little bit dirty, they have dog wipes as well.
