I'm pretty sure we've all done this before but hey, it doesn't hurt to go through it again. What do you all use for Birth Control, if anything at all?

I use the pill. Linessa to be exact. Works wonders for me. I tried two other brands of the pill before and it was awful. Every negative side effect you could think of I got. Only side effect of this current one I've had is weight loss... and very few woman complain about that (me not being one of them).

:rofl1:

I used to be on Tri-Cyclen and the generic Tri-Nessa. Both worked great for me. I don't use anything these days because he's been "fixed". ;)

The pill, Junel. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Low and it gave me the worst mood swings (poor hubby :( ) He was as glad as I was when I switched, lol.

I tried a LOT of different BC's before settling on Nuva Ring. I'm not on anything atm (just condoms) because I haven't been able to afford it, but I'm going back on soon and I can't wait.

I had horrible side effects with 3 different types of pills and the patch (violent mood swings, awful skin (break outs - and not just my face! YUCK!), long heavy periods and worse cramps than I'd ever had pre-BC, and I gained like 15lbs! Nuva Ring was a DREAM for me.

Well , we didn't have pills back then so it was either condoms or douches . I was fitted with a diaphragm when we were married and really can't remember when I went on " the pill " . Anyway , all pregnancies were planned !

I was on Ortho Novum for years without a single glitch, then they wanted me to switch to the Tri-Cyclen and I had every possible side effect and was miserable for three months before they'd believe me and let me switch back.

It was a HUGE relief when I finally found a doctor who believed me when I said I wanted my tubes tied, that I never wanted to be pregnant, HAD never wanted to be pregnant, and that wasn't going to change. Got those babies clipped, scorched and tied. Best birth control EVER ;)

I was on Yasmin. Except for being constantly depressed and having to fight it off every day it was great. I would recommend it for the most part, although I've heard depression isn't a common side-effect.

Trying to get on Mirena right now, though. I would love my tubes tied. Damnit, I can get a nose job, WHY CAN'T I GET MY ****ING TUBES TIED?????

Because obviously you have no idea what you really want and since every single woman on the planet is just dying to have babies, whether they know it or not, they won't let you deprive yourself of the wonderous joy of morning sickness, ear infections, 3 am feedings and then staying up until 3am wondering if they're going to come home this time.

I'm just a woman and I can't possibly make decisions for myself with my feeble little lady-brain. Even if I tried, I would just make the wrong one, like I have in this instance, because everyone knows by the time I turn 30 I'll magically want babies. Lots and lots of babies.

My standard answer when people treat me like I don't know what I want or what I'm talking about or just generally blow me off . . . "ah, well, what do I know, I'm just a stupid woman."

You should see people who know what the significance of me making that statement start looking for a safe place to hide and watch what happens next :rofl1:

Feel free to use it. Consider it your heritage ;) Oh, and a slightly raised eyebrow and a drippingly sweet tone of voice really put the finishing touches on it :D

I have the Mirena IUD...I wanted my tubes tied because frankly, after 3 kids, I'm done...more done than popcorn that's burned to the bottom of the bag...yeah ti's that serious.

But because I'm only 24, the docs won't do it...so I have to hope and pray Mirena works...the only thing I don't like about it is it scares the crap out of me...I can't feel the strings, the doc says they're in there...but you're supposed to check on them, and I can't because they cut them way short...UGH.

Ortho-Tricyclen was horrible...and I have 2/3 kids attributed to that. For some reason I start taking it and within 3 months I'm pregnant again...so I told the doc no way on that stuff ever again./ Not only that but I am not only a b!tch with it, I am Queen B!tch and nobody stand in my way...

Pill. Ovcon 50, as it is the only one I can take without really irksome side effects. I'm good about taking it at the same time, so haven't had any issues in the many years I've taken it.

For now only condoms. Im not in a serious enough relationship/s for me to warrent going on birth control. I dont feel like paying for it right now. Also, i have to sit down and talk to my gyno which one would work for me because i had a stroke. I dont care at the moment to do that.
