bile acid test for yorkies

Is this something that has to be done in the breeding parents or can it be done on the puppy?

I assume you are concerned about PSS (liver shunt?) The Bile Acids test can be done on any dog, but if I were a yorkie breeder, I would be sure to screen all breeding stock since the disease is so common in the breed. But, just because the parents are clear, does not mean the puppy will be. It would be best to have the puppy checked as well.
