They look alot quicker and agile than GSD's but OMG :confused: it turned and attacted the police man when he tried to get it off the man

Wow, that is amazing. I can't imagine how much work it takes to teach a dog how to do that.

I find it interesting that the large guardian breeds, like mastiffs, aren't really used for police work. I guess it's not so much size, it's willingness and trainability.

Hi!

Well police and army are going for speed that is crutial in their work and as you saw malinois is very explosive. And yes it does take training but drives in this dogs make it easier..

I think mastiffs are too slow like rottweilers although I'm sure they could be used.

OMG, do you have a Tervuren too?! I think we are the only two on the board that have them! lol

Gemp, also because the mastiff doesn't have the best breathing system. Their noses are all pressed in while the GSD's and the Belgian Malinois have long snouts so they can breath easier.
