I've been asked by a friend of mine to lend a hand at a charity concert at the end of October by way of singing. This is being held by a local Chinese charity we are both associated with; VFTAS (Vancouver Film-Television Artists Society) and to raise funds for BC Children's Hospital - so it's indeed a very excellent cause. I'll post more details as things are finalized. If I end up taking the stage - do stop by if you're in Vancouver/Richmond and see me make a fool of myself and visit me and Katalin backstage after the show's done!

I'm a decent singer and an OK actor - I've both sung and acted before but it's been a while (near two years) since I've last been on stage. I am jittery already as it is - and I haven't even agreed yet! I've until Friday to say yes or no.

My vocals are in good shape, I'll need to practice alot beforehand but that's perfectly doable.

I need advice on being on stage and public speaking (well, same principals I guess but different settings). Any pointers on getting nerves under control and keeping it together under the spotlight?

Tums help. The boost to your blood calcium levels really helps take the anxiety down a notch. I used to pop a couple right before stage performances.

Ha you're way braver than me for even considering it!

No advice from this end, the only thing that comes to my mind is run and hide lol

Xanax. Get a scrip and take a dose an hour before. I have pretty serious anxiety so I use a similar drug (Clonazepam) every time I'm in a social situation.
