Wow!! That's crazy! I have never seen fake grass before like that... does it smell when the dogs go on it after awhile?
Is it more expensive than sod?

Looks great.

My aunt has the stuff and it does not smell like, uhm, dog eliminations. Though, she cleans it off everyday. Or at least regularly. Wish we could do it for our backyard! :)

I'm trying to get them to pee & poop on the dirt. The frenchie is the one not cooperating. He's been poiping under the deck. First time I've been able to lay back there. They can chase the stream of water out of the hose and only get wet no mud or dirt flying. It was $9.50 a sq foot.

but if you cant get grass to grow! SOOO worth it.
no mowing, no watering, clean up is a snap (scoop then hose the spot) no weeds...

i wouldnt rip up a garden fll of grass to put it in, but when i get my own place if the grass sint co-operation i will invest in this stuff...its nothing like the outdoor carpeting and astroturf of the past.

the stuff ive been looking at is aout that lenght and feels almost exactly like the wide blade grass we had back in the uk. it doesnt feel bad at all, in fact its actually very nice under foot/back.

it looks AWESOME in your yard!

at work we have similar but cheaper stuff and we just give it a quick blast of hot water.

but we only hose down after messy poop, if its well formed and solid, no need to swill, rain and melting snow rinse he pee if its too cold/icky to hose.

what do you do in the winter when you can't hose it off?
I live in sunny California, well the foggy bay area. There are times when things freeze and I am supposed to wrap pipes but that's about it. Maybe it will be like a slip n slide if they run around on it. That would be funny.

So far so good with the no pee or dookie on the grass. Only a few times. They'll get the hang of not going on it. Consistency!

I can't keep up a yard. There was nice grass when I moved in, sprinkler system and everything. They not only destroyed the grass but the sprinkler heads pulled up the irrigation tubes.

Also the frenchies eyes aren't as runny and he's not covered in dirt. He loves to roll. Poor guy when I wiped his face rolls off, there was just dirt galore. Now it's the regular fold stuff.

Overall its working out nicely and everyone is happy the dirt is gone. Thank goodness for tax returns and overtime at work!
