Folks have been giving dogs real beer for decades, if Dakota wants a little taste of Budweiser she's welcome to it. Much cheaper.

Being German myself and having a Shepherd from Germany it is only natural that she got a beer every Sunday on the porch with me.
We are waiting the arrival of our new GSD pup now (April) and she too will get hers (when she's of age of course). I believe there are benefits of the brewers yeast with respect to flea control.
