i just cant believe a beautiful dog like her was surrendered by his owners at the pound, i bet they couldve found a home for her through some other way. they only keep dogs for 7 days

I would think a breed or Sight Hound rescue would want to know she's there and be all over getting her out and into the RIGHT kind of home.

I just emailed someone at the Afghan Hound Club of America, so hopefully they might know of the breeder this dog came from or something.

I wonder why they dumped her. I understand when times get tough, but I cannot ever imagine just dumping my dog at a shelter, especially one that euthanizes after only a few days!
I posted her on my blog. I hope the Afghan rescue will come through though.

Good news, I got a reply from Afghan Rescue. It simply said "Thanks for the heads up, I'm on it."

So guess I they are going to do what they can to get her out of there.

I am kind of curious what breeder she came from. I know around here there are not any bybs of Afghan hounds. She may have come from a reputable breeder who probably has no idea one of "their" dogs is in a shelter.

Knew she wouldn't be there long. Hope they can track down the breeder, who'd probably be horrified to know one of their pups landed there.

I know in my breed (Flatcoats), which is pretty uncommon, as soon as one is spotted on craigslist, petfinder, or anywhere, we are on it and the dog is going to be picked up. Most of the time the dog turns out not to be a Flatcoat at all, but there are always people who want to adopt a "wannabe" so we can still help out.
