It's so sad. :(

He was with her when she went unresponsive, and he was in the room when the medics took her away. About two days after they took her away, he got physically ill and had some awful stomach issues. Tuesday night he paced around the house and really stressed himself out. I think he was confused about where he was supposed to sleep. He's just been very quiet and hasn't really greeted any visitors we have, which is very unlike him. His stomach seems to finally be settling down, but I'm worried about him.

Maybe try to give him extra attetion to settle him down, let him sleep with you or on your mom's bed? I dunno, thats tough.

Poor baby . . . You'll have to find ways to keep him engaged and distracted for a good while :(
I've been trying. He's played with Nard some. Nard is his usual happy self, which is really good for everyone. Beau isn't playing much though so Nard and Summer have suddenly become playmates (which is weird for Summer). Dad's been sleeping with Beau, but we have to close the door or he starts roaming the house. Maybe I can let him explore the woods some this afternoon.

Getting him out into different scenery will probably help. Getting him to eat enough may be another hurdle! You may have to resort to using Nutri-cal on the poor little guy.

WHen Mary lost Bronki that was it. SHE woudln't eat, she layed there and looked straight ahead, nothing got her to repond, it was like i wasn't even there. Two weeks later it wasn't much better and she was losing weight fast. I was hand feeding her and she would only take a couple bites. IT is heart breaking to see an animal mourne.

Prayers that Beau will take distraction from all of you but he may just be like this for quite some time.

I got Victor in hope to help Mary. All it did was make her disgusted with me and she didn't talk to me for three more weeks after that. But VIctor did his magic for both of us. I will forever be grateful.

Nutrical is really good for times like this. A spoonful equals a ton of good stuff.

Poor guy. When my dog Rocky was put to sleep a while back, my other dog Rachel had a REALLY tough time. Give him a snuggle for me. He needs you just as much as you guys need him right now.

They feel it just like we do... but they don't have the same capacity for understanding what it means when somebody is truly gone that we do. =< Poor little Beauzo.
How are you doing??

Poor baby :(

The only advice I can give you is to try and keep him busy. Take him with you when you can. If he has a favorite place to sleep take an old shirt of your mom's and let him sleep with it.

My girl went through the same thing when my mom passed. She wouldn't eat, I had to sit with her and play with her food to get her to even take a few bites, and she lived in her crate. It was really hard on her. I had to let her take her time, she eventually started acting like herself.

I remember when my aunt died, her little dog was really upset for a while. He had my uncle though, so he got through it. They told me for a while that every time somebody came to the door the dog would race to it thinking it was his momma, and get all sad when he realized it wasn't. I don't even know what he's going to do when my uncle can no longer take care of him. My uncle has been having a lot of memory problems for a while (getting lost while driving around the city he's lived in his whole life, etc.), so I don't know how much longer he'll be capable of living on his own.

And some people think dogs don't have emotions!

(((hugs))) to you and Beau, Laurelin. :(

Aw, that is so sad! :( Hopefully with time things will be better, poor little guy. You can truly tell the love you have for those little sweeties.....worrying about him when I know your heart is still mourning itself.

People don't really know how much our dogs care for us . Yes , they mourn too and mirror our emotions . When Tom died , Chip really didn't know whether to mourn Tom or try to help me with my loss .

I've seen this too...many times and it's so sad. Poor Beau must be very confused and I'm sure that he dearly loved your mom. Is there a piece of clothing with her scent that you can use to comfort him...and you. This must be so difficult going through all you've been through and then to see this little love having a tough time too. ((((((((hugs)))))))) to you both.
