Well.. Today we had to take Jada and Crosbie to the vets for their annual shots.

The last time Riot was at the vets - it was the vet that he hated, so we brought him along as well for a tag along.

We left bandit in the front hall way with some toys, fresh water and a little bed for him to sleep on. All of the room doors were closed so he couldn't get anywhere and our kitchen door was closed so he didn't get in there. he ONLY had the hallway and the front enterence..

Well.. when we came home.. he had peed all over the little bed

AND trashed our $100 blinds for our front door!!

We were NOT impressed. He got kennel time for a few hours.

Now, we have left him alone before in that exact same situation and he hadn't done anything wrong.

We were ONLY gone MAYBE an hour as well this time, much shorter then the other times..

Ahhh... *end rant*

Ok Question now..

Would you ask bandits owner to pay for the damages? Partially, or not at all?

These were custom made and pre-orded blinds for our front door.

I'd feel bad asking for her to pay for them lol

Shes been my best friend for over 15yrs now, I'm fairly sure she'd offer to pay for at least half though without me asking for anything.

I just know that with horses - if a boarders horse trashes a fence or breaks their stall - the owner pays the damages.. lol

Her mother ran one of the biggest Boarding stables around here so i'm sure she'd know that lol

Also, I normally charge for dogsitting, but b/c we've known each other so long, Ban is staying here for free :)

Just see what she says, Summer . . . No need to worry about something like that until it actually happens ;)
Agreed Summer. Tell her what happened, and see what she says :)

Yeah, Jenn just mention it, don't expect them to pay, if they're good friends, and have manners they will offer to help pay to replace them.

But don't expect it!

Seeing as your not getting paid I think they should at least pay half. If they were paying you, I don't think that they should. I mean, I don't know why, but as a "service" your in charge of your facilities right.

True true,
But I know if a horse trashes a facility that they are boarding at the owners pay damages..

I dunno lol I'm defiantely not going to "ask" her to pay for them.. thats kinda rude lmao

At my barn that's part of why I pay board.

Riley has booted boards out a few times, and I've never had to pay to replace them. I pay $250/month for that!

Just as if I was paying to board my dog at a kennel if they wrecked something, well why was it there if he could wreck it?

But because they ARE NOT paying you for your services, they should pay in my opinion.
