Baby Cooper's "due date" was moved up as well according to his estimated size, but it doesn't mean that's really when he's due. It's just that going by his size, he's measuring older (when using such average size = gestational age). Make sense? LOL

It makes sense, Staci, but OBs tend to get very twitchy when babies are post dates, so if they start making noises about an induction for post dates on a pregnancy that is dated by ultrasound, I would be very loud and determined about my questions regarding the dates. Every so often they deliver a baby with immature lungs based on bad dates.

I was due around Labor day and my OB had a fishing outing / Luckily he had a good partner and he didn't induce for his convenience !

We were given a 12 week ultrasound for dating purposes and it was then that my OB said that they would not change the due date, she said the 12 dating scan is the most accurate for dating the gestational age of the baby. Which was good for us because after I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes I had to have weekly ultrasounds to monitor growth and health of the baby. We were told that we would be having a 10lb baby. When Eli was born he was 7lb 12oz---way off the estimated weight. Because of the estimated weight and the GD we were to have an early induction, but in the end we were induced 2 days before the due date. We were prepared for a c-section, but I really did not want one. My Mom, and sisters all had 10lb+ babies naturally so I was prepared to do the same, but thankfully he was not! So don't worry too much about the size they can be wrong, and if the Dr's aren't worried you should be either!

Not much longer for you now! I am excited for you, it is the most amazing thing in the world!!!

Thanks everyone for the reassurances! It helped putting my mind at ease a little bit.

The doc did not adjust the due date, because this is the first time it was off. At my next appointment (in 3 weeks), he'll measure the baby again and hopefully will have a better idea of where we're at.

Luckily for me, my doc doesn't like to induce unless the baby is WAY late, so I don't have to worry about being induced pre-term.

Ah.. a couples of you want to know the baby's name :).. we're still undecided. I have so many "favorites" that I can't choose one!!! (Katarina Marie (Katie) & Alianna Marie (Allie) are currently the top 2). Wish I had twins!!

We have a new suggestion that I was not sure about at first, but it quickly grows on me. Now I LOVE it. Part of it is because it was suggested by my 96 year old grandmother!, another part is because it's so unique, pretty, & meaningful, too!

She said that since the baby's Vietnamese name means Precious Blessing or Precious Grace. Why don't you name her ... Precious Grace Nguyen! :D

What do you guys think?

I like both of the two you have not sure if I could choose lol.

I dont' know if I personally like precious as a first name. Just sounds like something you might name your cat. Grace is VERY pretty though and I don't think it's really a super popular name these days

Yeah.. I know. I'm not really into giving children unique weird name (like Apple, Sunday, or Pilot Inspektor & the likes :lol-sign:), but if it's unique, pretty & meaningful, then I like :) For example, I love & adore my best friend's creativity when she named her son Peace, and her 3 daughters Faith, Love & Hope..

My favorite is Alianna.

I am sure Precious would fit her if that is what you chose, but I think for me it would take a bit of getting used to. I love the name Grace, however it IS very popular, half of my birth board that had girls used Grace for either the first or middle name. But who really cares how popular it is, if you really like it, you should chose based on what YOU like.

After you name your child something, you will probably see it everywhere. I barely knew of any Masons until after I named him that. And now I see it everywhere.

My Mom says the same thing about my name. She didn't know of anyone with my name until after she named me.
