Fidget has really bad gas all the time. We often can't be in the same room as her come evening. They are vile smelling things.

She is on Actr1um Holistic Puppy Food (BTW, when should she be put on adult food?) This food is wheat and corn free.

We also give her yogurt now daily. It doesn't really help...

Anyway, we REALLY want the gas to stop. Is there something else we can give her to help get rid of this problem??
Plz help! :D

PS: She is not experiencing anything else like diarrhea or anything.

One easy change that can make a difference for gassy dogs is soaking their kibble in warm water for 10-15 minutes before giving it to them. In my experience, this helps about 50% of the time, sometimes dramatically. Might be worth a try!!

She might need a probiotic added to her diet, and you might consider switching her from puppy food to an all stages formula. Puppy food is pretty rich and that could be the culprit.

In the meantime, activated charcoal tabs can work wonders ;)

Thanks for your responses!! Actr1um only makes Puppy food and Adult food. I guess I will switch her over once her puppy food is almost gone.

She gets probiotics in her tablespoon of yogurt she gets on her food.

I will take a look at those charcoal tab thingies though! I should give em a try.

We are so tired of smelling gas all the time LOL!!!

You may find that you need to eventually switch her over to a completely different food. It may be that particular food just doesn't agree with her system. Even with the best foods, one dog may do perfectly on it and the next one -- even one from the same litter -- may need a different one. Sometimes its something as simple as the protein source. There's a world of difference in my three on red meat vs. poultry, especially Bimmer.

We had a gassy Boston - know for gas problems.
After adding DINOVITE into his food ... 99% reduction.
Been giving it to him daily for 5 years now.
I would like to hear other views on DINOVITE supplement.
Changing food or water add had no effect.
Any others try it ??

My pug mix has horrible gas too! Apparently pugs are just a gassy breed of dog do to their Brachycephalic faces. That is just what I read, not sure how true it is. But I do know other pug owners, and Boston owners with gassy dogs.

Ya but Fidget doesn't have a squished face. She inherited the terrier nose.
