Yes yes, I've gone insane. I did an insane thing today. I got not one - not two - but THREE rats today. NRA and I spotted them in the feeder bin at the pet store, and, well....

... let's say that NRA sucks at talking me out of things. And apparently two people with no ability to use good judgement when it comes to paying a small amount of money for things that look awesome = three pet rats.

This is the one I saw that made me stop in my tracks and say, "I WANT!"

Isn't he friggin' out of this world???? Look at that wacky pattern!

Then, after I saw him, NRA pointed out this guy... and kept going on about how cool his little split cap was...

And THEN.... because we were both talking about how we LOVED beige hooded and capped... I found the darkest beige capped in the bin and somehow convinced myself I needed her too.

Beige capped girl will be separated from the boys, don't worry. She and my "failed feeder" agouti berkshire girl will be cagemates. They're not food (too cool to feed, and Sekai apparently likes mice only), so don't worry about that either. I've got a great dual level cage made by Martin's Cages, they've got a crawl tube, and a hammock, and a little fleece bed, and a litter box.

The split-capped male with the small body patch was named while we were still in the store... his name is Scarface. But the other two (the waaay cool male and the beige capped female) are without names.

... HELP! I need name suggestions!

Simba and Tibby.

Simba, because "Scarface" made me think of The Lion King.

Tibby, because... I have no idea. It just the first thing that popped into my head when I saw her.

Okay, the SECOND thing... after all the squeeeeeeeee-ing. :p

ETA: I'll keep thinking, because I know that my first impulse names aren't always the best, but I figured I'd share anyhow.

And yes, I know that "Scarface" isn't actually from The Lion King at all.

aw, they're adorable:) I miss having rats. When we move and, thus, have an extra room to keep them away from my goofy terrier, we'll have them again.

If you ever neuter the boys, there are not many things as cute as neutered boys with their girl cage mates:p

Okay, the other boy is named Barnum. I kept telling myself with such a cool pattern, he'd be right at home in a circus... so he became Barnum!

Still looking for a perfect name for the girl... :D

Todays Pet has links to about 7-8 different sites that are specific to pets names. Tons of unique names and ideas. About the only problem you'll find there is which name to choose ... even have sections for naming litter mates.

Oooo! Barnum is good! Much better than my idea... :lol-sign:

I've always named my girls after characters in the Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow books. So I'm kinda at a loss for fresh ideas.
