So I've never owned two dogs before and this is new to me - I'm wondering if any of you know what she is doing when she does this? I have an idea, but am curious as to what you all have to say.

I need to get this on video, but it happens so randomly... ok so the first time was a week or two ago - Aura and Riley were wrestling/play fighting in the living room and he did something she didn't like and she got a little snarky - so after he backed off she stood up (he was laying down) and walked up to him and STARED at him with this intense look that I've never seen before. She made no noise, but would follow his head around if he tried to move and just stare at him head on. He went a little crazy and started making weird grumbling noises that he was uncomfortable and just wanted to play.

Then it happened again the other day when they both went for the same antler - little spat ensued with her winning, Riley backing off, and this time she PICKED UP the antler and then went over and STARED at him right in the face with the antler in her mouth. It was seriously hilarious because I've just never seen her act like this before - she is usually so easy going and care free/happy. After a minute or so she went and layed down and Riley didn't really do anything this time, just layed there and tried to avert her gaze.

:rofl1: Thoughts? Is she just being a B!tch, maybe due to her second heat coming soonish?

Without being there to actually see it, I would say she's just being bitchy too. My grandma's dog, also named Aura, does that to my dogs all the time. It's their house and their stuff and she just walks up to them all puffy, snarks and then stares them down like "ha! I showed you". The girls don't let her push them around but Ripley just takes it. It drives me nuts. I'm constantly telling her to leave them alone (she's like 10lbs vs 30lbs and 60lbs so I don't want her really making my girls mad - they could easily hurt her if they wanted) and intervening as soon as I see the look. But, this Aura is always like this. Not just every once in a while.

Yeah Aura is my first female too so I was kind of thinking its just a female thing and possible "PMS" hahah. It's so funny and Riley has no idea what to do, so he just gives up.

Females tend to be snarky like that. Eve is that way too.

I get the snark, that's not new. It's the intensely weird stare that was throwing me off lol! Hilarious and creepy at the same time. Riley agrees ;)
