His left eye had a slightly green, very goopy eye booger in the corner when I got home. =< That's not at all normal for him. His eye is slightly red and he's squinting it just a little bit too. Luckily we're already going to the vet tomorrow morning for his annual. Hopefully it's nothing too big of a deal!

Meanwhile I keep going "Oh my poor puppy! You have a GOOPY!" and he just stares at me and squints his eye a little...

Baby Talk :nono:

:rofl1:

In the meantime, A warm washcloth on his eye for a minute or two will help him feel better.

Hope its nothing! :)

I second the warm washcloth.

It may be he just got a bit of dirt or hair or something in his eye and his eye is gooping trying to get it out. You can try a little saline eye wash, too.

I went to a concert and came back at 11 and it was all goopy again... even more goopy this morning. =< We're out the door to the vet now. I think I have to pick up an e-collar, too, because he's starting to paw at it. =/

Yesterday he had to wear the e-collar all day. I wanted to take it off at night so he could sleep without it, but as soon as I took it off he started pawing his eye again, so it went back on. =/

Today his eye looks better already - still goopy but not nearly as bad as it was yesterday. There's less mucus and it's not really green anymore, just a LOT of clear mucus. I took his e-collar off around 4pm so I could put his afternoon dose in his eye and left it off to see if he'd paw at it. So far, it's 6:30pm and he still hasn't pawed at it, so the e-collar is still off!
Yesterday was a hard day, being a conehead all day. Hopefully we are in the clear now and I can leave it off from now on.

I think I missed something. What did the vet say and obviously you took him. But I don't remember reading it, what did the vet say?

Fozzie was doing the same thing once when he came in from the backyard, a couple of years ago... I immediately investigated and saw what looked like a teeny little piece of dead grass. I pulled out an ENTIRE FOXTAIL! ahhhhhhghablargh. After that I am eye parenoid.

I hope Auggie's ok! I'm sure it's not an entire foxtail. :3 That would only happen to one of my dogs. *le sigh*

Yikes! Nope, I got out a flashlight and looked in his eye that night and saw nothing but lovely dark brown eyes staring back at me. It was really red and inflamed the next day but today it looks 95% normal. Just a little watery still, but a LOT better than it was. The green goop has stopped and it's not all red and inflamed anymore.
He's been conehead free since Sunday afternoon and we're doing a-okay! I'm glad because we're leaving for Louisville next week and I was worried about these antibiotics not working!
