Goodness! I am 32 with arthiritis already! I woke up this morning in alot of pain.
No I havent gone to the doctor to get it diagnosed. Right now I have no insurance for me or Jim just the kids. They have medical through ex's

I am taking glucosamine and it does help but today is a bad day for my knee.

Anything else I can do besides naproxen sodium and glucosamine?

Ibuprofen.

My bro has reactive arthritis, which you can get after an illness - it's genetic, something to do with tissue type.

He was on super strength ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen can work for some but not for others i find.
I take it for my neck (injured 7 years ago) but it will only work if taken with strong painkillers.

Hot water bottle for 10 minutes and then an Ice pack straight after for another 10 minutes usually helps me too.

Cherry juice (the real stuff, not 25% juice stuff) has helped my dad quite a lot. I don't know if you eat grapefruit or not but avoid that; found out that tip from my 90 year old great-aunt.

haha i was totally gonna say that!!! Momof7...if you skim my thread about the FDA, you will see why i was gonna suggest that too! Cherries are supposed to be a natural anti-inflammatory, and really help arthritis. Obviously they arent gonna kick in as fast as drugs, but if the drugs arent helping, then having some real cherry juice, or cherries isnt gonna hurt :) plus, they are yummy!

I got it in my feet. for the longest time walking was pure misery. Now the nerves are dead and it isn't so bad, except for the ones that now run up the side of my leg. I will tell you that losing 10 lbs made a great deal of difference. The more weight you carry the harder it is on your joints.

you can mix it up with some acetaminophen (Tylenol) 500mg every four to six hours... to a max of 4000mg... if you haven't had problems with your liver or anything, I wouldn't recomend super doses of any anti-inflammatories though without seeing your doctor.

If you odn't have insurance right now, go see a pharmacist, we're free and can help out with most things.
