AHH!, Riley smells soooo bad right now after we had fun with the hose, its been 2 hours since he got wet, I even let him dry up in the sun for a while. His smell is around the whole house how do I get rid of it!? I heard people saying Febreze? Also, is there a dry shampoo that I can use without giving him a bath?

It is soo bad I can't stand it:eek:

Wet dog smell - nothing like it!

I wouldn't use febreeze!!! Noooo!!

Would you use it on your skin? Noo - didn't think so ;)

I tend to put up with it, and it goes before you know it. Or buy some special dog perfume (not human).

I am a firm believer in Febreeze and Oust for the house. The oust removes anything that is stinky, and the Febreeze keeps everything fresh and clean smelling. But it is not for use on animals.

I always just bathe mine if they smell doggy. But, I believe RoxieCD uses some kind of condtioner that she swears keeps her dogs smelling wonderful.

I'm pretty sure renee febreezes her dogs if they get into skunk. I don't buy that kind of stuff. I like scented candles myself. ;)

Is he dry yet? How about baby powder? Why is he so stinky?

Yeah but why does he smell so bad it gives you a headache? Mine don't smell that bad when they are wet! Unless they roll in dead fish or swim in swampy water

I don't like Febreze at all!
It almost killed my friends bird, and I have read warnings in bird books and my birdie forum :D.
If it can kill Lovies, then I wouldn't use it!
Just get some puppy shampoo and give him a bath.

If it smells like rotting fish, it might be an anal gland problem.

This smell is coming from his whole body including his head, not the anal region. What is this anal gland problem all about?

I` agree that normal shampoo dries their coat out but only for a day or two.I groom my 2 loads the days after a bath and their oil returns quickly.

I notice that Riley's smell is coming from the head region, but the body smells not bad...is there a reason?
