I'm not... like at all. lol.

I hate cleaning (but I obviously do it), I'm not the most organized person in the world (tho I am trying hard to be, and getting better)! I feel so... unnatural in a kitchen, unless it involves a microwave or a toaster oven :rofl1:, I pretty much do not know how to make any good meals, LOL...

I often just feel so undomesticated. I really need to start learning more....

My mom has surgery on Jan 20th and is going to be down for the count for the first two weeks, and then six more weeks of recovery but the first 2 weeks are the hardest.

Sooo even tho she's gonna be home, I have to take over Emma duties (my 6 year old sis) for 2 weeks, with the help of my stepdad too of course, but he's not the best at that kind of stuff either. Getting her bathed, hair brushed, knots combed out, getting her off the bus, AND taking care of my mom. I'm a little scared.

No, not at all. Cleaning is not high on my priority list, which you can tell by looking around the living room. I swear I lose everything, Ben has given up and just brings me my drink for dinner because I always leave it in the kitchen. There is generally some swearing involved.

The kitchen, the kitchen is OK, but I generally live by the theory of "cooking is just heating stuff up" and throw some stuff in a pot and hope for the best.

Ahahahahahahahaha. No.

I suck at cleaning and cooking and all that stuff. I'm actually going to hire a housekeeper when I move to come in every month 1-2 times. I just.... suck at keeping up with it.

You can do it!

Does your family like stir-fry? It's a really easy meal that you can make a giant batch of and freeze for later in the week.

Or if you have a blender, you can make a bunch of different soups. Soups are also very easy to make.

What kind of stuff does your mom make? Do you/she have time to maybe show you how to make a few of your regular meals?

I'm not domestic in the sense that I enjoy cleaning and cooking, but I do love I can cook and I love baking, heck, I've made a career of it, so I'm sort of domestic I guess.

Nope.

Ok, well I do like to clean, and I like home decor and whatnot, but I'm not so good at putting it all together. Or, I will decide to redo the bathroom, and then I go to the store and say "10.99 FOR A FREAKING SOAP DISH" and walk away and not do it :p.

I don't like to shop.

I don't sew or do crafts or have any interest in gardening or feeding wild birds or anything like that.

I don't mind cooking but I don't like it either.

I'm somewhat domestic. I don't mind cleaning (I spent four hours cleaning my house yesterday) and I love to cook. I don't sew though, or really shop or get into decorating (or "nesting" as my friend calls it) much.

Get a crock pot, throw stuff in it, and cook it all day. It's pretty much zero effort for great meals! www.allrecipes.com has some good slow cooker recipes. I made a chicken stew that was really good just recently. I love my crock pot. :D

I love to cook and bake. I truly enjoy that part of things...

Cleaning...ehh...depends on what it is. I don't mind doing dishes. I hate cleaning floors.

Laundry is okay, but I hate putting it away when it is washed and dried...

So I guess I am so so on the domesticity:D

When I'm motivated to be. LOL When I'm in the mood, I enjoy cooking (and I grew up in a family that home cooked all meals from scratch, so if I have a recipe I can make it). I enjoy the accomplishment of cleaning. I like the feeling of having things organized and looking nice. However, all of those things take time and effort, and I'd rather just play a video game. I find I have a lot more drive to do things when Mike is around, because then I'm doing it for someone other than myself. Otherwise...I live like a college student.

Not at all. I rock at being an awesome involved mom but the kids and dog are all I am good at... My house is a mess and if I didn't have a boyfriend who cooked I would convert to being a raw vegan because I hate anything to do with making food

I enjoy cooking and baking. I like a clean house, though I sometimes can't keep up with it as well as I'd like. I like gardening, I like doing laundry. Not fond of a lot of crafty stuff, I do like home improvement and home decor stuff, though.

In some ways yes, in some ways no. I love to cook and bake, and I love working in the garden. I like some crafty things like knitting. But I'm also not organized, don't like cleaning, and I'm not really "house proud" - I don't mean that as an insult to anyone who is, but stuff like... furniture is functional, not decorative to me. My stuff doesn't match, nor do I really care if it does.

Surprisingly, in that way, I guess I could be considered domestic. lol. When I have my own place, I already have an image in my head of how I want it decorated, what kind of furniture, paint, etc. I share my moms modern day style kind of house mindset. My dads house drives me NUTS because everything is just like so random and there's no like "Style" or "theme" per say, haha! I love looking at house stuff, too.

I forgot about things like sewing, gardening, etc... uh yeah NOPE doesn't happen! lol

I was actually planning on doing some crockpot stuff! My mom does this a LOT and I know it's super easy so that's probably going to be the majority of our meals :rofl1:

Yes, my mom was gonna show me. She's honestly not the biggest domestic person ever either, but she knows a lot more than me lol

A lot of it is learn as you go. I have four kids on the regular and manage just fine solo. If you would've asked me years ago to take care of one kid I would've been lost but you pick up on it fast. How old is your sister? If she isn't a toddler or a preschooler I'd say you are fine. Babies and school aged kids I personally find easy. Its those moving little ones that are trouble. It will be ok!

She is almost 6. I'm totally fine with her, as I still live with her, so I essentially help "raise" in her certain ways anyway since the age difference. I babysit her all the time too but it's always "pass off to mom afterward and you do the rest" :p... I don't give her bathes, or brush her hair, or nightly routine-type stuff. Mom takes care of all that. It's more of, okay, I'll make you a snack, and play a game of hide and seek with you, and we'll order a pizza LOL... but yeah she's not *HARD*, she is just very needy, and we don't live in a neighborhood so there's not much for her to do.

Sort of. I love to cook and occasionally bake. Spending a couple hours in the kitchen on the weekend is my idea of a good time. I don't even mind cooking after a long day at work most of the time.

I hate cleaning though. I like to pick up clutter and make things look neater (not to say my house has no clutter) but I absolutely hate actual cleaning. I would get a cleaning lady in a second except that I'm cheap.

I like thinking about decorating and reading home blogs, but I'm too cheap to make it reality.

I'm not crafty at all and I don't like decorating for the holidays, so that makes me fairly undomestic.

I would love to be a domestic goddess , but she requires full time at home and I have to work. SOOOOOOOOOO we get by.

I suggest for the little one, interactive food , tacos , hot dogs , sloppy joes . that type of thing. Do a movie night , a scavenger hunt , make a fort , for bath time get soap crayons and make hair bubble mow hawks. This time in her life is so important and it is really a good time for you and her to have special time. (totally not saying ya dont but when it all falls on you it is different than just playing a bit and sending them back)

blahh sorry , i just wish i could be home everyday all day with my kids so i tend to fantize.

I was trained from a pretty young age to be domestic. Surprisingly, it didn't kill the drive to want to be. I like being in control of the household, the chores. I love cooking, cleaning, having the house neat and organized. I don't mind scrubbing the floors and doing dishes and the kitchen is pretty much where you are always likely to find me. The two years as a professional housewife drove it home. I handle the money, the bills, the decorating, the shopping. Everything. If it is part of the house, I feel like it is my responsibility. Hardwired.

BeAu refuses, though. He does laundry, dishes, and he'll cook me dinner and there is generally a lot of swearing and "Sit down, woman". Never met a man who DIDN'T want a housewife. But I guess it works.

Somewhat, yes.

I can be pretty OCD about things. For instance, my cloest is divided into sections (t-shirts, dress shirts, etc.) and then sorted by colors. I also alphabetize my dvd's and such.

However, I don't particularly like to clean. My room doesn't stay dirty for long though because after a little bit it drives me insane:p

I love to cook and bake things too! I can make some awesome chicken alfredo, lol. As well as some AMAZING cheesy bacon chicken in the crockpot!

I cannot stand doing laundry though. I don't mind washing and drying, but hate hanging up and folding. I usually live out of a basket, lol.
