Did anyone get to watch the Shuttle Launch tonight?

We are in Hobe Sound, FL. We are a fair distance from NASA but we saw the shuttle. It was a bright orange flame and then we saw the boosters release. After that it looked like a star and eventually we couldn't see it anymore.

it was so neat.

Totally... This was in the top 3 of things we did during this trip. Look for a full report with pics soon.

Honestly, (barring any problems on the trip home) my favorite vacation ever.

I will say now.... If you ever get to EPCOT Center in Orlando, you MUST ride "SOAR'IN" in "The Land" exhibit. Breath taking and totally unforgetable.

Missed it, but glad to hear there weren't any problems - the evening newscast here in St. L. said there was some doubt about the launch due to wind shear in the upper atmosphere. Dad mentioned that he saw a shuttle launch while on a commercial plane flight - totally cool.

I wonder if they still sell patches for the shuttle missions? A catalog I used to get had them - the last one I bought turned out to be for the final flight of the Challenger. I framed them along with a photo of Challenger lifting off on a previous mission.
