There are earwigs all over this house, but not until today did I see any upstairs. Now I go to get Emily's bed ready and there's one in her bed giving me an additude problem. I would hate to think how many more there are in here and how many more get into Emily's bed at night. Does anyone know a way to deter them from going places, or get rid of them?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I HATE earwigs!!!!!!!

We had an earwig problem about 10 yrs ago, never were able to get rid of them until we pulled out the floor of the downstairs bathroom and redid it....

Good luck though....

"Control
Earwigs (at least in Canada) can be controlled by the use of "Sunlight Dishwashing Detergent", in its liquid form. Simply surrounding your house in a thin line of this substance will prevent the earwigs from crossing and entering the home. It is simply deadly to them, and they know it... running in terror from it.

If one desired experimentation, simply surround a found earwig in a circle of Sunlight Detergent to see the results..."

I just read that from wikipedia....Not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot...

Another way to kill them is to put bacon grease (or something similar) in a plastic container, mix in some Comet, and put the lid on (with holes poked in it)--the greedy little buggers gobble it up and then die :)

They are incredibly attracted to ant bait traps too, and will swarm them.

Yuck...I hate earwigs to. I've never seen one in my house (thank God)!!!!!!!!!!! My mom lived in a rural setting in Washington, and she used to get one in the house once in a while. Do they really pinch with those pinchers????

Equal parts of soy sauce & oil in a container will attrack them and kill them off when they fall in, I just read that on a gardening forum this morning. I do know that they love moisture, I used to have them in my bathroom in my old house and used bug spray, how I hated the little buggers, THEY DO BITE!!!!!
