Am I the only one on the planet you thinks most meat tastes nasty? I will eat it from time to time but I like pasta and veggies better. The only meat I really like is seafood. My biggest turn off is the mystery fat crunchies in ground beaf and sausage *BLACH*. I really don't like any meat with alot of fat on it.

Of course people give me a hard time all the time about it. People don't get I just don't like the taste of it. Its gotta be because its cows, and pigs, and chickens and those poor animals. And yeah sometimes it creeps me out to think it was once a living breathing animal. But im not radical about it. If that makes any sense at all.

So anyone else not a big fan of meat? As in just don't like it? Just like alot of people simply don't like veggies?

Now let the take everything I say the wrong way begin! Lol

I know a bunch of people who don't like meat because of the texture. It doesn't have to be for idealogical reasons. It's a good thing there are a lot of vegetarians out there, though, because it is a lot easier to put together a healthy vegetarian diet than it used to be.

I went to a veggie meeting after seeing that film..and looked at a lot of recipes. The problem is my doc took out rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, tomatoes, peppers, anything of the nightshade family. Fruit sugar, milk sugar ..i can have very little, but no more then i absolutely have to to get by. I walk in the grogery store and think wtf am i here? Sure didn't leave me much did he. One woman at that meeting has a business where she takes cashews and boils them down to use as a meat substitute. I have found Walgreens to have the cheapest and the freshest. 2 12 oz bags for 7 dollars isn't bad at all and one bag will = 3 protein parts of my meal for three days.

When i read the literature it said many people try to go veggie all at once and often fail, but if you even replace SOME of your meals you will be making a difference. SO that made it easier to do gentle changes. More and more i steer away from it, but beef is my big downfall.

If you want to lose weight...cutting the carbs and all sugars wiill strip it off of you faster then you will believe. I went from a size 7 to a 4 in just a couple months. I didn't know i had that much fat on me until it was gone.

I take enough alphaha tablets now i expect to sprout hooves myself anytime.

I don't like the taste of beef AT ALL. Bleeeeugh! I just don't like it. Everybody thinks that's weird, but seriously, why is it weird? Some people just don't like how stuff tastes, and I don't like how beef tastes. It's not that big of a deal.

I love chicken though, pork, and some fish (which I guess is the faux-meat or whatever depending on who you ask.) Give me a rack of smoked baby back ribs slathered in BBQ and I am a very, very happy girl... mmmm.

Sorry, I can't live without my meat. I eat it every day. Sometimes 2-3 times a day. Sometimes more.

I can understand about the sausage/hamburger thing. I prefer my meat in nice lean slabs, on the grill, not ground up in mystery fashion.

For a long time, I didn't really like the taste of meat. I'd grudgingly eat it if it was put in front of me, but I was a vegetarian by preference (not morals) for quite some time.

I like meat, now, though - but I will always choose seafood over meat. I just love the lighter texture. Sushi? Mmmmmmm....

I really don't like much beef. I think its kind of gross. Same goes for ham. I like chicken though. Yummm

However, I really do feel like when I have the money and ability to buy from only small local farms, I will. I'd be an awful person if I didn't.

I love meat... I don't like sausage at all... but I love beef, pork, lamb, chicken (when cooked right), turkey, duck, deer, elk, etc etc... I could totally understand someone not liking meat though. We all have different tastes.

Have you taken a look at Vegan with A Vengeance? You won't be able to eat everything in there, but I think you might be able to use a lot of the recipes.

Ah, Herschel, I want that book! I still adore vegan food but because my whole family doesn't eat it, I don't cook it as often as I want to.
