I occassionaly do... and she loves it. I give her the "regular" tuna roll.... seaweed, rice, and tuna (raw of course).... do you see anything wrong with it? Breaking down the ingredients seems pretty good... rice (could be brown though), sea weed (rich in omega-3 and has many vitam/minerals) and tuna>>> Not bad for a snack.

Anybody else?

As for if sushi is good for dogs, I don't know, can't see why not.

Yup, I do. Ripley only gets it in his crate, though, because he unrolls it and eats the fish first, then the rice, then the seaweed.
ROFL!!! I can just picture His Ripliness doing that :D Which part does he like his wasabi and ginger with?

It's cheap if you make it yourself!
Ah, you make it yourself!? I was going to make a thread just to see if someone makes it their own sushi. I've always wanted to try and make it myself ever since the sushi chef at our local grocery store who used to made yummy sushi has left, leaving me craving for it all the time. I now have to travel 30 minutes to get some. Is it difficult to make? I heard it takes practice. Plus, does the quality of a rice maker make a difference? I was thinking of buying one a Wal-Mart but if it's going to change the quality of the rice then I'll look elsewhere.

Shoot, maybe I should start my own thread, I’m totally hi-jacking this thread.:p

It's easy, just takes a bit of practise. You can do it for sure! I don't use a mat like they recommend although I can.

Use sticky rice. All jasmine rice is sticky rice. You don't have to go out and buy 'sushi rice' although it probably works a bit better.

I get the nori at any grocery store in the 'ethnic' section.

Spread rice down a sheet of nori right to the ends. Put your fillings on top of the rice and roll it up. I keep a bowl of water close by to help seal it. And I cut it with a cerated knife. I don't know if that's proper but it seems to work well.

I've got a rice cooker that I bought at WalMart and if I use Jasmine rice, or even risotto, it is a good consistency to roll sushi . . . I may have to do some of that this summer!

Hmmmm . . . maybe cook my rice in lemon water . . . .

Thank you, Saje! That link is awesome, I've bookmarked it. I can't wait to give it a try.

Yay, then I'll go get the one at Wal-Mart! Thanks Renee!

My main issue is the fish. Somehow I'm not sure I trust the places around here to sell a fish that would be ok to eat raw...
