Hi people! I noticed a couple of days ago that one of bubba's paws had a red sore on the side of one of his pads (fingers?). It looks red, irritated and it's a bald spot like he's been chewing at it. At first I thought that maybe he got a sticker bug (we're from texas so we call 'em stickers) in his paw and he was trying to chew it out which caused the redness. but it doesn't look much better even though I've been rubbing it with aloe. Should I worry? Could it be mange or something equally bad? I will upload pics when I can. Please help.

It may be allergies.. I'd say take him to a vet to get his/her opinion. Even with pictures, most of us here on Chaz are *not* going to know what's going on with your pug, because we're not trained to know and/or diagnose.

He needs to see a vet.

What are you feeding, though? Is it a bump? No one can be sure, but I have seen a lot of pugs with interdigital cysts (which does need vet attention).

My 2 year old Smokey had the same thing a couple of weeks ago. It apparently started when she stepped on something that cut her toe pad ( probably a piece of glass which I found a great deal of on one of her walk paths) and it became inflamed. The Vet looked at it to make sure something wasn't still stuck in her pad, and then they put her on an antibiotic. She healed up in a couple of days.

Anything that looks like an irritation or infection should be vetted , unless you've dealt with this before with success.

Anyone know how to put pics on this thing?

Not sure if this works or not? I think I will take him to see a vet though. Thanks for all your helpful replies.

You would need to open a photobucket account.

Please get in touch with the vet tomorrow, tho.

As for the pics, you can always just go to tinypic.com. From there, you upload your picture and you copy and paste the

It may be a hotspot which is an allergic response. Best bet is always the vet though. If it is a hotspot they will give you some topical medication to put on it and then you will want to discourage any licking or chewing of the area.
