Awwwww. That is precious. Makes me want to almost reconsider my choices. I've not had luck with Rotties but I love them. One died of what they were calling the "second shot syndrome" when she got her second parvo shot about 12 years ago, another was stolen and the other was killed in my mother in laws back yard. He was my precious sweetie and "adopted" a little girl Hannah down the road. She used to always come and take naps with him and he would baby her. She never came over to play with him or anything, just take naps. I'm going to have to share this story with my husband and kids. They'll love it.
Very sweet.............not so surprisingly I have seen & heard about plenty of Rottie females that take on mothering other animals, sometimes when they aren't needed, HEHEHE, like when the real mom is still around!!
Did you ever see that white Pit Bull female dog that allowed the Calf to nurse on "Animals Planet's Funniest Videos"....A calf has a pretty harsh tongue and wiegh a lot more than the biggest Pit Bull. :yikes:
Aww, nice story for a change. I love rotties, my uncle had one. She was the sweetest girl, but was such an awesome livestock dog. One of the few true working dogs I've known. her name was Hannah as well.
What a sweetie...it seems that lots of Rotties have a high maternal drive; there are at least a lot of stories about Rotties taking on other pups, kittens, ducks and now lambs to help raise or even nurse like their own.
I agree that alot of Rottie bitches have a maternal side to them. When we brought Shooter home Naughty "adopted" her and they have been like a mother/daughter team ever since. No one has told them they are half sisters LOL.
