I saw the previous topic about the GSD, but thats not the issue.

I really think Yami needs to gain some weight. Hes not super skinny, but he does look a bit underweight. He weighs about 55-60 lbs. He doesn't have worms/tapeworm because hes had those problems cleared up. But since then he hasnt gained any weight after loosing it. Is there any way to put a few extra pounds on him? I just dont like him looking so thin.

We both Thank you! <3

Its not so much his chest. You cant see his ribs. Its the part behind his chest towards his hips.

That part. ^^^

He is a mixed breed, Pit bull and Greyhound. I've seen 2 purebred greys and their body is similar shaped. I'm just a tab bit unsure because from some angles hes looks kind of thin, and others he looks fine. Is it an illusion? Ugh.

Sorry about the doggie parts .

Judging from the pictures, he's a very nice weight, and really doesn't need to gain anything.

I think Yami looks fantastic. From a veterinary point of view, I'd love to see him stay that shape.

Cheers

If he's got greyhound in him it's probably just his structure... With larger dogs too, being a little bit leaner is a good thing. Less stress on the joints.

I agree with Roxy's CD ... I think it's the greyhound in him and you and him are better off with him on the leaner side. Beautiful dog.

He looks absolutly perfect to me, especially with the greyhound blood. He's got a great tuck-up and such a shiny coat!

I guess theres just a lot of fat dogs out there I've been seeing XD
Yep. I think statistics are that at least 40% of dogs are over their ideal weight.

He looks like hes a fabulous weight :)

If you want to gain some "good weight" get him exercising more going uphill to work the back end more :)

This is what I have to do with Riot right now, make him consistantly going uphill during his "exercise" time and doing small jumps to build up his rear for shows :)

Now Riot right now is a skinny mini.. I can feel a few of his ribs when I brush my hands down his sides hard(hes got LOTS of fur), you can also feel the last few vertabeas on his back - but hes also extremely hard to get weight on because of the breed. Males are harder to keep weight on then Females when they are young like this. PLUS - "show Belgians' are supposed to be slightly thinner then your average Belgian because of the show coat they posses.
