...in Indiana . An 85 years old man was killed by his neighbor's dogs. He loved them, he fed them. It was a rural area and they all knew each other. Yesterday while he was working in the yard they attacked him...2 Rots ..2 Pitts. The owner couldn't understand it and had them put to sleep. WHY!!!! These were friendly dogs and he wouldn't have raised a hand to them. What could have set them off ! Sorry, I love both breeds and obviously this wasn't the norm ....but why !!!!! It upset me for both families.

It usually just takes one and the rest will follow suit. When one dog goes after something and a rucus starts the others will follow. It is quite amazing how much pack instinct still exists in today's domestic dogs. Sad story though. :(

If one dog runs after the others will follow. Could of been another animal that they saw at first and chased after, maybe the the man killed sensed this and took defensive measures that the dogs sensed. It could of been a number of factors. Once in a pack they will follow the lead. I do feel sorry the mans family that was affected by this and then again the animals.

~Sigh~I hate hearing stuff like this. Why does it always happen in Indiana? If only we knew what happened...what triggered them...maybe what the man's reaction was to something then we'd know the story.
