is this....
Ok, now we got Oreo from a friend. we had been told by her first owner that she was part border collie, that is what the lady at the shelter said was the mom. But she is rather short and only weighs about 30 pounds. so any guesses? sorry if the picture is big, I never know how to resize them.

It could totally be a BC mixed with something shorter, skinnier, and less hairy. Like I don't know jack russel or rat terrier or something.

How tall is she/he? Its hard to tell from you pic but I am thinking she/he is too light boned for a JRT cross. The Rat Terrier maybe but they are pretty small.

Any reason to believe it is not a Whippet or Italian Greyhound cross?

She comes up to about my knee, or for better reference when you sit on the couch and she stands next to you her head rest on your knee. if that helps much. To be honest I haven't ruled out anything. at one time we even thought part pit because we had seen a dog look exactly like her and he was part pit. They (at the shelter) assumed lab and border collie, but she only weighs around 35 lbs give or take so I would think with those two breeds then she would be more like 50 or 60. I have heard lots of people say jrt but she just seems too tall for that. thanks everyone for the input.

I don't see Pit at all....But heck anything is possible...:p

35lbs....A Whippet/BC cross could easily be 35lbs. Whippets are often less than 30lbs and Border Collies are often under 45lbs (although some are bigger).

That's the thing about mixes, you never know what they are unless you saw the breeding, own the parents, or anything to that effect.

Let's review, shall we? We've at least established the fact this she is, infact, a dog:D
